1949 and 1959

Four-light window with numerous Welsh saints. Included in the window are single figures of David, Teilo, Dyfrig, Gwynllyw, Cenydd, Illtud, while in groups of three are Winefride, Elli and Tudful; Cyfelach, Rhidian and Gwladys; Padarn, Cadog and Beuno; Deiniol, Theodoric (Tewdrig) and Gildas; Tegwell, Brynach and Cyndeyrn; and Brychan with his wife and four of his children. The coats of arms of the six Welsh dioceses are also shown at the top of the window.

size: 50 cm (width of each light) [approx]

west wall of the nave

The window was originally commissioned in 1949, but each panel was funded by individual families and installed in two stages in 1949 (the central lights) and 1959 (outer lights). The whole remains quite consistent in terms of design and execution.

One of the most comprehensive depictions of Welsh saints in stained glass. Although figures such as Beuno and Deiniol are included, there is a bias towards saints from south Wales.
