  Virgin and Child

Photo © Martin Crampin

about 1850

Virgin and child, both crowned, in a tall Gothic canopy.

designer: A.W.N. Pugin
artist: George Myers

Church of St David, Pantasaph, Flintshire
south wall of south aisle

The figure is a close copy of the Virgin and Child at A.W.N. Pugin's church at Ramsgate, attributed to Myers and in this context almost certainly to Pugin's design.
