St Francis
Photo © Martin Crampin
about 1970
Standing figure with birds and animals.
firm/studio: Celtic Studios
Church of St Peter, Dixton, Monmouthshire
north wall of the chancel (window number: nIII)
The window clearly matches the style of Celtic Studios, although it does not appear in the published list of their work (Maurice Broady, 2010).
According to the inscription, the window was given in memory of Alfred William Price, born 1890, died February 1970. However, the window looks more like some of their full-coloured windows made in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
