Central panel depicts Christ as shepherd with seven disciples, one of whom kneels, with standing figures of the saints Melangell, Asaph, Beuno, and Winefride at either side.

The subject of the main panel is not immediately clear. Christ stands among a group (but not all) of disciples. One figure is kneeling, could this be a post-Resurrection scene, with Thomas making his declaration of faith, or with Peter being exhorted to 'feed my sheep'? As Christ is depicted with a shepherd's staff, and with a sheep at his side, the latter seems likely.
