sanctuary

Figures by William Goscombe John, dedicated in 1892. They are placed under arcading designed by the architects Kempson & Fowler, and made by Clarke's of Llandaff. The reredos was dedicated in August 1890, at which time the intention was to fill the niches with oil paintings. The figures were gilded in the 1970s under the direction of the architect George Pace.
