St Giles
St Giles was a popular medieval saint born in Provence, and the subject of a tenth-century Life. His cult became widespread, assisted by Crusaders on their way through Saint-Gilles to and from the Holy Land. Prominent dedications to Giles are found at churches in Edinburgh, Wrexham and Cripplegate, London.
